Music is important to everyone at one point in their lives. It could be party time, a break-up, a memory or for the most important reason to me, to listen and hear what the musician has to say. My personal taste in music is eclectic, from punk to rock to metal to some classical to some jazz to some rhythmic based compositions. Though I do not speak french, there are some French Canadian bands that I absolutely love. Their music is compelling. I’m like everyone else whose tastes can change not only day to day, but from hour to hour. There is a special focus on England’s longest reigning artistic lady, Kate Bush. I have loved her music for a very long time and am constantly amazed at her voice and artistic performances in her videos. A truly outstanding talent. Enjoy.

The band Fluke once sampled an old blues singer being asked what he thought of the various genres of music. His reply was that there are only two kinds of music, good and bad. That works for me, or as the meme gose ” my taste in music ranges from dude you gotta listen to this to please don’t judge me”.

“Rock’n’roll is the devils music” has the wrong link attached to it. *info*

I wish we could let the whole keep calm and XYZ thing die.

Agreed, The KEEP CALM & … meme is just about dead, but this one referred to music. It (KEEP CALM & CARRY ON poster) was a huge inspiration to the British people in WW II, which is what it was originally was designed for.

Keep Calm and Carry On was never shown to the public in WWII. It was printed to be used in the event that the Nazis invaded and captured Britain. It lay unknown until one was discovered in 2000 in a book shop.

It is getting old, but occasionally one comes along that I like.

I stand corrected. Thanks Lee,. I knew about one being found in an old bookshop but had assumed that it was used during the war. It’s good to learn something new. 🙂

A music post and no Freddy or Queen. Oddman, I am saddened by this oversight.

I can’t have Freddie or Queen in every music post. Great as they were, there are others that are important as well. Here’s a few for me: Strawbs, Nazareth, ELP, Elton John, Deep Purple (My Woman from Tokyo), Bowie, Janis, Stones, CANO, Diane Tell, Chris de Burgh, John Coltrane, Chet Baker, Alan Parsons Project, Triumph, Rush, Asia (one of the few rock bands that exploded on scene during the age of disco) to name but a few. I do have to say though, Freddie was THE ULTIMATE showman. Talent for writing, singing and how to have the crowd at his bidding. I just wish I could have seen Queen live.
