It’s been about 3 minutes since we’ve heard the latest Mileyisms, complaints, shock etc. so the ODDMAN has brought you some more. There are two videos that I hope you have the time to watch. One is a take on her VMA performance and the other comment’s on her current public personae. Both are good. Now I know absolutely nothing about rap music, it’s not something that I’m interested in, but this guy does make a lot of sense about Miley. It’s up to you to agree or disagree. So on with the circus with Miley as the headliner.

A word from me on the Miley circus: Whatever. I think that Miley is making a mistake in her career with the silly antics. The publicity that she is creating is not the kind that generates sales, but strictly to increase exposure in the media. Media exposure doesn’t necessarily translate into sales unless it is the right kind of exposure done with the right timing. That is why you hire media handlers.

The outcry over her twerking at the VMA, silly appearance, tattoos etc is no different that the rock/pop stars of old. Bowie and the glam rockers, Elton John, KISS, Alice Cooper, the era of bad boy rock band antics like The Who, G&R’s legendary drinking, Lady Gaga and her meat outfit, all screamed out for attention. Madonna has reinvented herself so many times I’m not sure if she knows who she is. All of them have/had the talent, drive and timing to succeed.

Only time will allow us to see if Miley has enough talent to survive or if she will have an adult singing career length of a boy band supernova. She’s no longer a cute 16 year old girl with a lot of tweenie girls buying her CD’s. She is an adult and the tweens are looking at/for the next new thing. It’ll be kind of fun to watch if she has the talent to thrive in the music industry as an adult performer or if she’ll be reduced to a side show act. I don’t know. She probably has enough money stashed away not to ever worry again, so I wish her all the best. Who knows, she could just be running the greatest gag on everyone else in her young life.

Julie A. your smile hides your true talent. How long is the waiting list for judges for that tournament?

MEH! As far as the Miley circus goes, everyone can act all shocked and digested, but it’s BS. America and everybody else just loves it’s little jail-bait hotties despite what people act like or say. It’s been done over and over, go look at Britney and others. She’s the only one laughing, all the way to the bank. Good for her …… If you don’t like it or are offended or shocked or what affront you feel. See that little button that says OFF or POWER – press it!

You’re absolutely correct; nobody is forcing anyone to watch the Miley circus. I’m not the least bit offended with her act as I don’t really care. I just don’t think that it’s good for her career in the long run. Certainly it isn’t any more shocking than what’s gone on before her for a hundred years or so. Shock from Josephine Baker’s act to Elvis to Bowie to Madonna to Lady Gaga is all nonsense. All she is doing is re-packaging what others have already done before with maybe a little less clothing. Licking the hammer was taken from Cornelius licking his pickaxe in Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Feigned shock. I’m just waiting for a snake to appear with her a la Alice Cooper.

And now here’s Rex with the wildlife report. Saw a Peregrine falcon early this afternoon with a freshly caught Bonapartes gull. The gull was about 2/3s the size of the falcon and was nothing more than a smear of white feathers the next time I saw it. Now that the tourists are gone for the winter the birds of prey have started to hunt in the village again. Very neat to see. Stay odd my friends.

That’s soooooo cool. Nature is wonderful to watch, even when it’s feeding time. When I lived in Ottawa, we had a lot of hawks and kites feeding on songbirds that lived/wintered in our 8 ft tall cedar hedges. No falcons in the backyard though. Pheasants visited every so often.
