We had a discussion about people chewing loudly at work with HR the other week. Apparently someone in out Texas facility yelled at someone during lunch for it. Doing research on it… Seems its actually a medical issue. There is a name for when you get angry at the sound of people chewing!

However my works didn’t care if it is or isn’t a medical thing. They just wanted people to stop complaining about what they called “small problems”.

I just started eating lunch in my office so I don’t have to worry about anyone being bothered by how or what I eat.

Over the years that I’ve worked, I’ve only experienced one food related problem at the office. Not a problem with people’s eating manners, but with the actual food.

We had a student one summer that we had to ban from microwaving low cost chicken wieners. They stunk. They were just gross smelling and the odor hung around the office for hours. He was a great worker but nobody could stand the smell of those chicken wieners. Just typing about brings back the smell of those awful things.

Chicken Wieners? That’s as bad as turkey wieners. YUCK! I’m something of a snob about wieners anyway. I only like Oscar Mayer or Eckrich hot dogs. Why? Because these companies do not own farms, they buy all of the meat. If they owned the farms then they would be forced to use EVERY part of the animal. But this way they can buy the best parts and leave out the not so good parts.

That’s what I tell myself anyway, don’t shed light on the truth please!

I just read an article about this, A study on why chewing sounds annoy us. Of course my question is whether it is a problem with the chewing noises or a person just complaining, whining about something that bothers them.

I eat lunch in my office as well. I don’t like being required to communicate when I am trying to eat. Of course I make loud chewing noises too……

When I was a teenager still at home, my mom’s chewing bugged the heck out of me, but the thing was that a, we lived in a _really quiet house in a really quiet area_ – you could hear the slightest thing in that house. Also, at that point*, everything my mom bugged me, so it was probably part her and mostly me.

*: she still bugs me but I don’t have to live with her

I can’t stand when my mom chews toast, why I don’t know. It’s like listening to nails on a chalkboard don’t get me wrong, I love my mother just not when she eat toast! lol

That shower is cool! Add some fog and you have yourself a cool portal to another world or a cheap trick to get someone wet lol

    Have a good one,
