FRIDAY’S BLUE PLATE SPECIAL

It’s special cuz it’s Friday. Culinary delight is within this post. Have a good one.

Holy Corn Dog

A top White House official told the media to ‘keep its mouth shut’. That’s a threat. Story: HERE

US State Department’s entire senior management team quits as Secretary Rex Tillerson takes up post. Story: HERE

Tillerson and Exxon agree to $180 million severance package. Story: HERE

Do you think that the Tillerson even knows how an average person lives?

Donald Trump’s White House ‘gags’ at least three US government agencies including the EPA. Story: HERE

Yup, Emperor Trump is off to a fine start as President. Let’s silence the press, threaten agencies and those who don’t agree with him, bully Mexico ( for those who don’t do math, the trade deficit with Mexico is ~60 billion dollars but the yearly amount of trade is ~360 billion dollars. That 20% tariff, collected, by the importer and not Mexico, will raise all of Mexico’s exports to the USA by 20% plus administration fees, if Trump gets it passed through both houses. It will be the US consumer who pays for the wall, not Mexico. Or is Trump going to ban all Mexican imports if his nose gets further out of joint?) as he gets started messing up the world. Policy on the fly without any thought as to the consequences of any actions. It’s OK to obsess over the inauguration numbers and now overall voting numbers. He cannot stand the fact that he did not win the overall popular vote and that isn’t winning in his books. No facts to support these illegal voters by any agency but that’s OK, truth doesn’t matter as he BELIEVES  that he’s right…somehow. A waste of time, effort and money to feed his ego.

Not bad for the first week.

History is repeating itself.

Please don’t start filling your posts with political stuff. The occasional snarky comment is fine, but I get enough politics on FB and everywhere else I look. I come to your site each morning to be amused or intrigued, not preached to.

As a dachshund owner I love anything to do with the little wieners. I have a t-shirt that says “I trip over my wiener” and several other things with comments such as that. I don’t know why, but I am always amused by new ones I see. I’m headed into the tattoo parlor next week for some new ink and I am even thinking of a dachshund tattoo now.

I have made a decision to not comment about political issues. I came to a realization a long time ago but have failed. I used to listen to only conservative radio, Rush Limbaugh and the like. I realized one day that all I was doing was nodding and saying “That’s right!” but I wasn’t seeing the other side of things. So I switched to liberal radio and tried to listen objectively. So I’m not going to comment any more on politics, but try to simply observe. After all, it’s not like I can change an opinion held by another person and more than they could change mine.

Have a great day everybody, It’s Friday!

I agree with Bill. Perhaps instead of a wall we should build a one way bridge directly into Canada. You can be head of the welcoming committee……

I had put up a comment about politics but took it down.

Of course it goes without saying that whatever Oddman posts, is his decision. I personally like the political posts and I’ll tell you why…..

    a) Unlike other sites where one news event draws hundreds and thousands of comments, Oddman’s site is still comfortable and more like sitting around the kitchen table compared to media sites. He keeps tabs on his site and controls it and I appreciate that.

    b) I, like many people, get sick and tired of political confrontations but this time around with Trump at the wheel I think we should ALL be very eager for discussions as opposed to the opposite such as what Grandmother Bush said long ago about Iraq and not wanting to upset her beautiful talking about it.
Long ago another man took over a country and much of what he did is very similar to what Trump is doing. But back then too many people ignored it. People said ‘oh come’on he’s not like that’. They went about their daily lives as the lives of others and eventually their lives as well were changed dramatically. They should not have ignored or avoided discussion about him. Their silence in any form was in a sense ‘permission’ for him. I personally refuse to say to myself when the shit hits the fan (and it will with Trump) that out of discomfort I did not fight back.
I think Trump shouldn’t be able to look at anything, even a cooking show, without someone talking about his decisions and how it will have an effect on everyone’s lives and futures. There should be no place for escape for Trump…..or his gang.

Anyhow…..in the end…..it is Oddman’s decision and I’ll still like his site either way.

A-Fucking-Men, Deacon. And I really like the Oddman table.
Living in the USA is a comedy show now, but no one is laughing.

Holy corn dog is awesome. lol When I drive to my parents house in Arizona I drive over the Holy Moses wash. Every time I drive over it, I think man I wish I could take a picture of it and send it to Oddman. 😀

I remember my little brother washing his bike, working on his petal car, and taking apart our red wagon to use its wheels to create a giant skateboard to fly down hills. Yeah, that’s my brother. ^_^

Well we survived a week, so far *knocks on wood* the world hasn’t come to end or WW3 hasn’t broken out, so we are okay for the moment. I personally believe Trump needs to get off his high horse, and look at things from different perspectives and see how discussions can effect others both good/bad. In addition, some common sense would do him and the rest of the world some good too!

    Have a good one,
